Our Vision
A Phoenix has a 500 year life-cycle, near the end of which, it builds itself a nest of incense and sacred materials that it then ignites. The bird is then consumed by the fire of it’s nest, but from it’s ashes a young Phoenix arises, reborn anew. Just like the Phoenix, we strive to give purpose to the used books. Most people in this world read a variety of books. But once they are done reading them, they usually don’t know whom to pass these books on to. Our main aim is to collect such books from people, and donate them to some NGOs or organisations which look after the education of poor or orphaned children.
Progress
We are a group of 6 students, all of us inspired to make a change towards a more sustainable future. We aspire to use social media as an effective tool, to provide a platform to connect with people willing to donate the items and to make ourselves known to the organizations engaged in the provision of these items to children in need. We plan to get in touch with NGOs and within the next month, hope to get our project kick started. We don’t require any funding as of now, but if we do sense its need in the future, we plan to conduct bake sales to receive funding. We believe that this project has a lot of potential to go forward and become global.
